Salvia ‘Nachtvlinder’, also known as sage ‘Nachtfalter’ or peach sage, is an unusual ornamental plant that no garden should be without. Salvia ‘Nachtfalter’ prefers sunny locations with well-drained, nutrient-rich soil. A slightly sandy substrate is ideal to avoid waterlogging, as this can damage the roots. The plant is fairly easy to care for and copes well with dry periods, making it a perfect choice for low-maintenance gardens. Nevertheless, it will reward occasional watering in particularly hot summer months with more abundant flowering.
In spring, the sage should be pruned back slightly to encourage compact growth and stimulate flower formation. Further pruning after the first flowering can also stimulate a second flowering period in late summer.
