The almond tree needs a pollinator. A peach tree, for example, is suitable for this. The fruits ripen between July and August. As soon as the thin shells start to burst open, all the almonds can be harvested.
As a planted specimen, the Prunus Dulcis proves to be extremely frost tolerant, as temperatures down to about -16/-17°C can be withstood without any problems.
